Biography
Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, receiving his diploma in 1971 in the studio of Prof. Krystyna Lada-Studnicka. In 1972-85 he was a lecturer at his alma mater. In 1981 and 1983 he stayed as a scholarship holder at the Stedelijk museum in Amsterdam, and in 1985-86 he went to Atelierhaus for a study stay. He spent the years 1990-91 at the Musée d'Art Contemporain in Nîmes. In 1999 he received the Jan Cybis Award for creative achievement. His works have been exhibited many times at home and abroad, and have taken part in prestigious international art shows: the Cagnes-sur-Mer Painting Festivals (1982, 1984), the Sao Paulo Biennale (1987, 1994) and Documenta in Kassel (1992). His works are in the collections of the National Museum (Lodz, Krakow, Poznan, Warsaw, Wroclaw) and the Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam), among others.He collaborates with the Foksal Gallery in Warsaw, Wetering Galerie in Amsterdam and Galerie Hans Strelow in Düsseldorf.
