Tadeusz Waśkowski, brother of Antoni, a writer and painter, and cousin of Stanisław Wyspiański, grew up in a family with artistic traditions. Between 1905 and 1911, he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under Jozef Mehoffer. During his studies he was awarded for his nudes and portraits. In 1931, his solo exhibition was held at the TPSP Palace of Art in Cracow. During the interwar period and after the war, he often exhibited there. He created genre scenes, as well as series of portraits of art people of his time, characterized by a synthetic approach. While accentuating the most characteristic features of the portrayed person, he did not cross the boundaries of caricature. He was mainly engaged in charcoal and crayon drawing, as well as lithography.
