Born in Vilnius, in 1945, together with his family during repatriation he ended up in Gdansk, where he attended the State High School of Fine Arts, one of his teachers was Zdzislaw Kalędkiewicz. He continued his education by studying easel painting at the State Higher School of Visual Arts under Juliusz Studnicki and Hanna Żuławska. After graduation, he took a teaching job, until 1981 he worked at the State High School of Visual Arts in Gdynia, of which he himself was once a student. In 1968 he became a member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers, from 1977 to 1980 he was vice-president of the Gdansk District of the association. He lived in Sopot for many years and was a co-founder and member of the Society of Friends of that city. Tadeusz Ciesiulewicz was involved in many aspects of fine arts, from easel painting, through printmaking, illustrating publications, designing posters to decorating ceramics created according to his own ideas.
