Stasys Eidrigevičius (Mediniški, Lithuania 1949, lives and works in Warsaw) studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in Kaunas and the Institute of Fine Arts in Vilnius, from which he graduated in 1973. He made his debut in 1970 in Vilnius with an exhibition of paintings and ex-librises. In 1979 he first exhibited in Warsaw. Since 1980 he has lived and worked in Poland. In 1981 he joined the ZPAP, and is also a member of the international artists' associations IAA and AIAP. Initially he became known as a creator of ex-librises and graphic miniatures, made with extreme precision in metal techniques. The field in which he became most famous is poster art. Like the artists of the "Polish poster school" of the 1950s and 1960s, Eidrigevicius creates in the style he has developed, which dominates the functional side of the posters he designs. A recurring motif of his works is the head, on which the artist performs a variety of artistic procedures, mainly deformation. He also works in book illustration, drawing and painting and sculptural forms. In 2022, the artist participated in the International Art Triennial in Setouchi, Japan. The Stasios Eidrigevičius Art Center (SEMC) in Panevezys, Lithuania, is currently under construction, where the artist's work will be permanently displayed.
