The painting was purchased directly from Stanislaw Wisniewski in New York in 1971.
Painter, professor of fine arts, member of the "Kuźnica" Association. From 1954 to 1960 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under Zbigniew Pronaszko and Zygmunt Radnicki. He was a lecturer at the Faculty of Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. He created and managed the "Arkady" Gallery in Cracow. Twice, in 1971 and 1983, he was a scholarship holder of the Kosciuszko Foundation. He participated in many individual and group exhibitions in Cracow and throughout Poland. He painted mainly abstract compositions, portraits, nudes, as well as landscapes. His work is exhibited in museums in Poland and abroad, and many of his works are in private collections.
