Stanislaw Teisseyre (1905 - 1988) is an artist born and educated in Lviv. He supplemented his painting studies in France and Italy. Mediterranean culture was constantly present in his work, both his early, youthful work during his Lviv period and his post-war work, when he was a professor and rector at the School of Fine Arts in Poznań and the Academy in Sopot, and later in Gdańsk. In the Poznań milieu, after a brief period of socialist realism, he was a supporter and promoter of the idea of colorism, bringing up the second and then the third generation of colorists, mainly associated with plein-air painting workshops in Skoki, near Poznań, where the PWSSP had its palace.
