Biography
Studied in 1958-64 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, graduating in 1964 in Stanislaw Szczepanski's studio. After graduation, he traveled throughout Czechoslovakia, the USSR and East Germany. He practiced easel painting - landscapes and figural compositions, printmaking, drawing, he also designed scenery in student theaters. He had many national and international exhibitions in Vienna, Prague, Karlovy Vary, Berlin, Hamburg, Brussels, Oslo, New Zealand, Sindelringen, Dusseldorf, Antibes, New York, New Hope (USA), among others. In 1970 the artist departed from his previous painting, derived from the "new figuration", and made Kazimierz Dolny almost exclusively the subject of his paintings. He painted in light, pastel tones, giving his works a gentle, lyrical atmosphere. He very often idealized views of the town.
