Stanislaw KLIMOWSKI
1891 Cracow - 1982 Katowice
Painter and sculptor, studied at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts under Teodor Axentowicz, Jacek Malczewski and Konstanty Laszczka. In 1920 he moved to Wiśnicz, where he lived from 1920-1934 and 1940-1947. Enchanted by the beauty of the locality, he recorded it in countless landscapes. He also perfected his portrait art, creating images of people from his immediate surroundings. He also made religious paintings. In the post-war years, he was a teacher at the High School of Fine Arts in Wisnica (1951-1961). In 1961, he settled in Katowice.
