Ryszard Winiarski (1936 - 2006) graduated from the Warsaw Polytechnic Institute and the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where he later became a professor. Thorough knowledge of the sciences and continued education at the Academy of Fine Arts allowed Winiarski to formulate the original principles of his art. Strict submission to the rules of probability calculus locates his work in the rigorous current of conceptual art. The artist's works can be found in the Art Museum in Lodz, the National Museums in Warsaw, Wroclaw, Krakow and Poznan, the Bochum Museum, the Wilhelm-Hack-Museum Ludwigshafen, the Museum of Modern Art in New Delhi and many private collections.
