Ryszard Piatkowski b.1949, graduated from PWSSP Lodz in 1974 in the field of graphic design and artistic photography.
The artist has a number of completed graphic designs for packaging ('Zenith'), company logos (among others: Service Cooperative 'Światowid', University of Lodz - Department of Geobotany and Ecology of Plants), and numerous posters.
As a painter (acrylics, oils, watercolors, pastels and his own techniques), he is an artist who consistently follows his own artistic path. His favorite subject is landscape, and his painting style is abstraction. With the new millennium, Piatkowski's work has been enriched by the use of computer art.
Piatkowski's paintings are characterized by dynamism of form and deep fascination with color.
Selected press reviews:
"At the beginning Piatkowski ", Andrzej Grun, Głos Poranny, Lodz, 15.02.1993
... Violent, expressive, shouting with color, attacking with a convoluted form....
The guiding principle of his actions seems to be the words of a Japanese poet of the 16th century" Among small things, discover great things". That is why... painting small fragments of nature - he paints the COSMOS.
For a few years he has been dealing only with landscape, first treated realistically, and then processed against all the canons of classical Renaissance composition, including its discipline and perspective.
"Father and His Sons," Dziennik Łódzki, 29.06.2001
... the artist experiments with the composition and forms of his paintings, combining abstraction with figurative representations. He operates with sharp, aggressive color, and varied, dynamic form. His paintings are a combination of reality, daydreaming and the distant, cosmic and impenetrable.
The show will be accompanied by a presentation of the achievements of the painter's sons Gregory and Piotr Piatkowski.
"Crouching Tiger, Hidden Fear," Gazeta Wyborcza, Lodz, 14.07.2001
... the artist has developed his own recognizable and unique style. And the meaning of this style is expression, dissonant juxtaposition of strong colors and transformation of reality.
