Roman Opalinski was born in Grodek, near Lviv. In 1985 he graduated from the Building Technical School in Lviv in the architecture class. In 1992 he earned a diploma from the Department of Artistic Glass, Lviv Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts (now Lviv National Academy of Art). His professors were Andriy Bokotey, Oteksandr Zwir and Volodymyr Ryzhankov. He is a participant in many Ukrainian and international exhibitions among which are worth mentioning, "Autumn Salons" and "Art of the Free World" in Lviv, "Art - Ambassador of Freedom and Democracy" in Kiev, "Bridge instead of Walls" Northern France, international open-air exhibitions in Poland, group exhibitions in Germany, Holland, France and Slovakia.
