described on the side of the canvas: TO BE A GIRL
At the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries, two painting series by Ryszard Wozniak related to his fascination with the mechanisms of power were created: "Presidential Candidate" and "To Be a Presidential Girl." The auctioned portrait, depicting Monica Lewinsky, the infamous heroine of the Monicagate scandal, is part of the second series of works. Six images of Lewinsky were then created, similar in composition, but differing in color palette and formal details. Each of them, although depicting the same person, is intended to evoke a different impression in the viewer.
