"Bipolar #6" is a conventional "page" from a "book" created by the artist, based on "Bambi", published by Walt Disney in 1942. This short, illustrated novella had an educational function: by showing the adventures of the little deer, it was supposed to shape certain moral patterns in children. The painterly series "Bipolar", developing and transforming the graphic motifs of the original, matches them with stories drawn from texts present in the mass consciousness. Leaving it up to the viewer how to interpret them, he juxtaposes them with the almost fairy-tale brutality and dichotomy ofcontemporary reality.

Ryszard Szozda, born in 1976 in Cracow.
Graduate of the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow (diploma in 2002). He also studied at the Department of Photography at the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany. He lives and works in Warsaw.
Co-creator and director of the documentary film "Don't pay me" about the negation of the conventional priority of accumulating money and goods. Winner of the Grand Prize of the 13th Arte Laguna Prize for his painting triptych "Test #03" in Venice.
