Biography
Painter, printmaker and more recently a video artist. From 1993-95 he studied at the Faculty of Architecture of the Cracow University of Technology, and then from 1995-2000 at the Faculty of Graphic Arts of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. From 1994 to 2001, he was active in the Ładnie Group, and at the same time, from 1998 to 2001, he ran the Open Gallery in Cracow, where he exhibited, among other things, posters depicting everyday objects in a formula similar to advertising supermarket products, but impossible to buy. He is interested in the entry of art into public space, as well as the issues of commercialization of art and depriving it of non-material value. He documents the transformation of an artwork into an advertisement or into an object. His favorite method is to repeat the object in a different technique (oil painting, linocuts). He tries to purify his art of individuality. The paintings he has made resemble bricks or boards, for example, and at the same time can be perceived as examples of abstract or conceptual painting. The artist initially sold them at the actual price of the "goods" they represented. He is also involved in art actions involving repainting gallery facades.
