Biography
He was a painter, graphic artist and illustrator. From 1953 to 1959 he studied at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, receiving his diploma from Prof. Eugeniusz Eibisch in 1960. In the early 1960s he joined the Warsaw group "Rekonesans". He also had solo exhibitions, including at the Gallery of Modern Art in the Old Town Square in Warsaw (1964, 1969, 1971), at the BWA in Lodz (1976), at the House of the Visual Artist in Warsaw ( 1978) and at the Kordegarda Gallery in Warsaw (1979). He painted compositions on the verge of abstraction, introducing figurative elements using a wide range of means of expression. Forms placed in space, juxtaposed with concrete figures and geometric divisions inspire the viewer to freely interpret these works. He deliberately did not give the paintings titles, leaving them in the realm of understatement.
