Biography
Sculptor, author of spatial arrangements, lecturer and head of the Intermedia Activities Studio and Pro-rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań for artistic and research matters. Graduate of the State Higher School of Fine Arts (now the Academy of Fine Arts) in Poznań. In 1984-1983, he exhibited with the Koło Klipsa group (which he did not belong to). At that time he was associated with the Great 19 Gallery in Poznań, where he also debuted with a solo exhibition titled. "Phlogiston" in 1985, and participated in the most important exhibitions of the New Expressionist movement in Poland: "Expression of the 80's", BWA, Sopot 1986, II Biennale of New Art, Zielona Gora 1987, "What's Up", d. Norblin Works, Warsaw 1987 and other group exhibitions organized by Andrzej Bonarski: "Bruno Schulz" and "And Now Sculpture," both at the SARP Pavilion, Warsaw 1988. During this period, he exhibited sculptures and spatial objects using readymade objects, neon lights, sometimes using elements of the existing environment. In the 1990s, the artist incorporated multimedia to a greater extent in his realizations, created elaborate installations with rich content related to the contemporary condition of man and culture. He has exhibited extensively and is the recipient of scholarships and awards, including the Pollock-Krasner Foundation scholarship, New York 1992, the Kosciuszko Foundation, New York 1995, the Rockefeller Foundation, Bellagio, Italy 1999 and others. He simultaneously lectured at his alma mater. He simultaneously taught at his alma mater. He is currently a full professor, vice-rector for art and research, and head of the Intermedia Activities Studio at the Multimedia Communication Department. He was also artistic director of the "Art Poznan 2004" exhibition.
