Piotr Fąfrowicz - (born 1958), a highly regarded painter and illustrator in Poland and abroad, as well as a publisher (co-owner of FRO9 publishing house). He has received a number of awards for his work for children, including: Second Prize at the 2001 Biennial of Illustration in Aki Town (Japan), PS IBBY awards in the 2003 Book of the Year and 2004 Book of the Year competitions, awards in the PTWK Most Beautiful Books of the Year 2003 and 2005 competitions, and an entry in the 2005 White Raven list of the Internationale Jugendbibliothek in Munich. The crowning achievement of the awards is the European IBBY 2008 for her illustrations for the book "Big Changes in the Big Forest".
