Biography
Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow and at the Hochschule fürGestaltung in Offenbach am Main. He lives and works in Cracow and Szczecin. He is a painter and creator of collages and installations. In his works he problematizes a wide range of issues: from modernist utopias, history of avant-garde and architecture to contemporary music and sociology. He subordinates the diverse style and subject matter of his works to conceptual reflection.
He has been teaching at the Academy of Art in Szczecin since 2014, as an associate professor since 2020. He was a resident at Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin (2011) and SOArt in Austria (2013). He received a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in 2008. From 2007 to 2019, he collaborated with the ŻAK I BRANICKA gallery He has held over a dozen solo exhibitions, including at: Foksal Gallery in Warsaw (2021), Salzburger Kunstverein in Salzburg (2009); Bunkier Sztuki Contemporary Art Gallery in Krakow (2008); Art Stations Foundation in Poznan (2009); Polish Institute in Berlin (2012); Art Basel Statements in Basel (2009). His work has been presented in dozens of group exhibitions, at such institutions as the National Museum in Krakow; National Museum in Szczecin; MAXXI in Rome; Skulpturenmuseum Glaskasten in Marl; Arnold Schönberg Centre in Vienna; Sean Kelly Gallery in New York; MOCAK in Krakow; Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin.
