Patrycja Piętka is a painter, stage designer and installation artist, a graduate of the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow; a finalist of the 46th Biennale Bielska Jesień 2023; she defended her diploma entitled "Vargtimmen Hour of the Wolf" realized in the studio of Prof. Mirosław Sikorski with distinction in 2022. Patrycja Piętka often uses the motif of night and vanitas associated with transience in her work. Her painting series evoke feelings of melancholy and anxiety in the viewer. She captures the emotionality of nature in a tender way, painting is a kind of spiritual quest for her. The artist draws from philosophy and her work is firmly rooted in one of the basic philosophical disciplines that studies the properties of being, which is metaphysics. She also draws her inspiration from film culture and literature, following the psychology of characters and the specificity of building tension,symbolism and understatement hidden in the layers of reality. The first solo show of the artist's works was the exhibition "Depth" (Art Agenda Nova, 2021). In 2023, the artist's works were presented at BWA Bielsko-Biala in the exhibition "You lie down and wait for sleep. You don't fall asleep right away," a group exhibition "Hidden Life. Child in Polish Contemporary Art" at the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle, the group exhibition ""Sketchbook - Study - Creation, Ring in Theater, Spitalgraben 2 in Amberg, Germany, and the individual exhibition ""To tell the anxiety"" at the Art Culture Center Tower in Kalisz. In 2024, the artist's works could be seen in group exhibitions: "Navel of Dream" at the City Gallery in Wroclaw and ""The thing about the limits of human cognition. Light and Shadow" at Krupa Art Foundation. In 2025, the artist participated, among others, in the exhibitions "Nostalgia. Poszukiwacze fading stars", MOCAK, Krakow, "Don't be afraid of shadows", Art Agenda Nova, Krakow, "Y" mid-exhibition, TPSP Palace of Art in Krakow and "Dream darling dream. Dream Incubator," Dominik Rostworowski Gallery, Cracow. Currently, the artist's works can be seen in the exhibition "Children of the X Muse. Moving Pictures and Art," CCA Signs of the Times, Toruń (opening: October 2025).
