80x80cm, oil on canvas, 2023.
About the artist: Tomasz Tyszkiewicz, born in 1975 in Zambrów, has lived in Bialystok for 30 years. Graduate of cultural studies pedagogy at the University of Bialystok. He has been painting since his teenage years. His work is situated on the borderline of expressionism, abstraction and surrealism, with a penchant for vivid colors. His oil works, mostly with elaborate titles, are full of references to art history and literature. On his canvases, cultural allusions mix and meld with filtered impressions of the surrounding reality. He is a full-time servant of a black and white cat named Uruk, who camouflagedly manifests herself in his works and wholeheartedly cheers his work.
