41 x 31cm Natalia Tarnawa - born 1983 in Katowice, Poland. She grew up in Nysa, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw in 2007 - she received a diploma in painting from Prof. A. Dobrzaniecki and an annex in graphics from Prof. Ch. Nowicki and Dr. M. Warlikowska. She has had several solo and group exhibitions. She currently lives, works and creates in Wroclaw. The artist focuses on exploring the undeveloped spaces between painting and large-format printmaking. She combines the freedom of a color patch with the graphicality of a linocut line, often supplementing them with experimental media. As she says, she draws inspiration from her travels, then referring in her works to the landscapes she sees and elements of the traditions and folklore of local cultures. |
