Mikolaj Kon czalski was born in 1935 in Chrostkow near Lipno, died in 2023. A versatile artist. He was involved in painting, poetry, printmaking, sculpture and interior design. The Artist was inspired by the Polish countryside, small towns and nature. The works are fairy-tale-like and exude joy. He was the author of wall paintings in more than a dozen religious buildings. He held dual creative credentials (as a writer and painter) granted by the Minister of Culture and Art. Since 1995 he was a member of the Association of Polish Artists in Torun. He was the founder and vice-chairman of the Society of Lovers of Dobrinland and Lipno. He was also the winner of many literary and art competitions (including first prize in the national competition "Woman" (1973). For his literary and painting work he was awarded, among others, a diploma from the Minister of Culture and Art (1987), and the Silver Cross of Merit (1989). His artistic achievements include 60 solo exhibitions and over 150 group exhibitions at home and abroad (including Japan, Germany and France).
