Biography
Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under Prof. W. Jarocki, K. Sichulski and S. Filipkiewicz. During World War II, a soldier in General Maczek's 1st Armored Division. After the war, he studied at the College of Art in Edinburgh. He settled in Paris. Starting in the 1940s, he created geometric abstractions, which became increasingly simplified over time. He lived for art and was totally devoted to it. His work was recalled with a monographic exhibition at the National Museum in Warsaw in 2004. He practiced figurative painting at the same time, creating landscapes, especially Provençal landscapes, and informel type works. The artist's works can be found in the collections of the National Museum in Cracow, Warsaw, Gdansk and Poznan, the Art Museum in Lodz, among others.
