Biography
Painter, graduate of the Faculty of Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. She earned her diploma with honors in the Painting Studio of Professor Andrzej Tobis. While still a student, she was awarded the Grand Prix of the 42nd Painting Biennale "Bielska Jesień 2015" at the BWA Bielska Gallery in Bielsko-Biała (2015). Finalist of the Fish Eye 9 Young Art Biennale at the Baltic Gallery of Contemporary Art in Slupsk (2017). Winner of the Talents of the Three in the Visual Arts category (2017). Nominated for the Passports of Politics in the category of Visual Arts (2019), honored in the 13th Geppert Competition (2020). Czech's paintings formally and thematically resonate with the new expression of the 1980s. In her works, however, pessimism and radical misanthropy prevail over the irony characteristic of the new expression. Czech's expressive paintings are an attempt to work through her own complicated relationships with other people. The painter is not afraid to unveil the truth about violence and human cruelty. When the negative protagonist of her work is a man, the victim of his stupidity becomes a defenseless animal, in whose defense the artist acts.
