Martyna Czech is a graduate of the Faculty of Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, where she received her diploma in the studio of
Andrzej Tobis. In 2015, she was awarded the Grand Prix of the Bielska Jesień Painting Biennale, and in 2019 she was nominated for the Passports of Polityka. Her emotional painting is one of the most interesting among the artists of the younger generation. Through the artistic means used, she is also associated with the current of new expression of the 1980s. The artist paints observed events, moving her enough to arouse incomprehension, disagreement or even resentment. Martyna Czech does not shy away from extreme emotions in her paintings, she uses misanthropy as an impulse to take up the subject she is interested in, which is well expressed in the title and text for the exhibition "Venom" held at the Bielska BWA Gallery. At the same time, positive feelings are evoked in her by animals, which, in the artist's interpretation, can be a counterbalance to the figure of man or, on the contrary, personify him.
