Marta Julia Piórko: Astrology, secret knowledge, mythology, beliefs and superstitions give an artist engaged in surrealism a wide field for creative creation. They act as stylistic means. They are intended to evoke certain emotions and stimulate the imagination of the viewer. Communing with something unknown, inaccessible, supernatural gives a sense of uniqueness. It's all about the psychological effect. My works are accompanied by an aura of anxiety and the uncanny. However, I do not use astrological motifs. It seems to me that while for me astrology could be an inspiration and a means of expression, users of these practices benefit from the placebo effect. If one believes that it works, there is a corresponding reaction in reality....
