Studied at the State Higher School of Visual Arts (now the Academy of Fine Arts) in
Wroclaw at the Faculty of Painting, diploma in the studio of Prof. Konrad Jarodzki. Member of ZPAP.
He primarily works in painting, but also creates murals, installations and videos. Since
childhood he was interested in art. Painting from an early age has been for him the basic
creative activity, thanks to which he can talk about everything he considers important. Already at the age of
17 years old he was creating his first painting series. His work has the mark of personal, deep creative exploration
of creative research. Mariusz Mikolajek's art is a story about a man; it is also an attempt to touch the mystery of
of our existence on Earth and a reference to the mystery of redemption and the Person of God-Man. The artist
calls it a vicarious area of grace, sees in it the potential to do good, so in its area he
he undertakes many activities that transform the lives not only of himself, but of many other people.
He carries out artistic activities in the space and in the presence with other people, for example, the Colorful Project
Backyards, in which local residents participated - murals on several thousand square meters were realized
square meters, thereby transforming degraded places into spaces that are beautiful and attractive.
The artist is inspired by the works of Edvard Munch and Willem de Kooning. His works can be found in the collections of
National Museum in Krakow, the City Museum in Wroclaw and the Collections of the Lower Silesian
Lower Silesian Encouragement of Fine Arts.
