Signed p. d.: M. Gajewski
A graduate of one of Poland's best high schools with an artistic profile (for he graduated from the High School of Fine Arts in Jaroslaw), he was given the opportunity to acquire good workshop skills, the kind that can make a master out of a student of fine arts. For years he has been connected with the artistic bohemia also through his managerial activity in show business, so his talent is supported by the climate of the environment in which he grew up and in which he works.
The characteristic feature of Mariusz Gajewski's work is primarily synthesis, while the solid construction of his paintings is based on strong elements of value and color. Juxtaposed patches dictate and impose the emotional tone of his paintings, against which the full range of the foreground shines with masterful cadences of painterly thoughts and themes. The clear deformation and simplification of shapes impose the delicate and restrained expression of the works intended by the artist.
The great advantage of Mariusz Gajewski's painting is the lack of cliché and banal artistic tricks, as he approaches each painting statement differently, while each of his works has its own peculiar atmosphere and distinct mood.
