Born in Lviv. While studying law at the University of Warsaw, he participated as a free student in drawing and painting courses at the Academy of Fine Arts in the capital. He collaborated as a draughtsman and window designer with "Wiadomosci Literackie". During the war he was active as a stage designer at the State Miniature Theater in Lviv, with which he toured the USSR. He was also involved in stage design after the war, and in 1948-1950 taught it at the Academy of Fine Arts, then the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, where his student included J. Szajna. Known mainly as the founder and editor-in-chief of "Przekroj". Illustrator, reviewer, animator of cultural life; promoter and fond forger of Picasso. After being ousted from "Przekroj", a contributor to "Szpilek". In the 1970s, creator of photo series (Salvador Dali at Mr. and Mrs. Penderecki's, Dali in Krakow, Napad na bal, Sceny historyczne). Painting exhibitions: 1961, Lambert Gallery in Paris; 1982, Art Gallery at Krakowskie Przedmieście; 1984, at Dominican Stalls in Krakow; 2020, MOCAK.
