Biography
Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, received his diploma at the Faculty of Graphic Arts in 1978. In 1980-1982 he was a teacher at the Cracow academy. In 1983-1984 he carried out the Traveling Academy experiment with students of Vestlendets Kunstakademie in Bergen, Norway, conducting classes in various places around the world. From 1986 to 1988 he worked at a branch of the Silesian University in Cieszyn. In 1997 he was awarded the Nowosielski Foundation Prize, awarded for the first time at the time. The most important fields of his artistic activity are drawing and sculpture. He has developed an innovative combination of these two fields, testing their interaction. He introduces the element of movement into the spaces he arranges, confronting the immobile sculpture with it. His works are inspired by literature, mythology and mysticism.
