Watercolor signed in the lower left corner by E.Mańczak '87, measuring 27.3 x 34.7 cm (in a thin passe-partout with an outer dimension of 50 x 53 cm), based on a pre-war photograph(taken after 1906 and rebuilt in the Art Nouveau style) showing a tenement house at No. 1 Szczepanski Square in Cracow, which houses the Stary Theater.
Mańczak Edmund (1917-1987) - painter and graphic artist, and in the years 1946-50 studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan, in 1950-51 he completed his studies at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts in the atelier of E. Eibisch, he received his diploma in 1954. After graduation, in 1958-67 he worked as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Painting and Graphics at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. Since 1946, he worked actively, creating caricatures for "Ekspres Poznanski", "Głos Wielkopolski", and after moving to Warsaw, he cooperated with "Życie Warszawy", "Mucha", "Trybuna Wolności", "Szpilki", among others. Participated in numerous individual and group exhibitions, at home and abroad.
