Zbigniew Makowski (1930-2019), studied at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts under Kazimierz Tomorowicz from 1950-1956. He was involved in painting, drawing as well as poetry and handmade books. After his stay in France in 1962, he leaned towards Surrealism, but his art was influenced by non-painting interests such as esotericism, poetry and philosophy.
