Maja Janczar (b. 1995, Warsaw) Graduate of the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw; diploma in the studio of Prof. Jaroslaw Modzelewski (2021).

She received the Jury's Distinction at the 45th Biennale of Painting Bielska Jesień 2021. Finalist of the 19th edition of the Artistic Journey of Hestia competition. Scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture, Sports and National Heritage. She works in the team of the flying gallery Dream of the End.

In her paintings Maja Janczar takes up the subject of relations within groups, communities and collectives of various kinds. In her painting "All Together," the artist refers to the iconic painting by French master Henri Matisse "Dance II" from 1910, in which 5 naked red figures hold hands and twirl in a dancing circle. The image has become synonymous with carefree fun and a world that knows no evil and suffering. The protagonists of Janczar's painting repeat the Matisse dance, but their faces are covered with balaclavas, while the background resembles tongues of flames. The scene takes place here and now, not in an imaginary world without conflict. Janczar comments on today's tensions and problems that are permanently inscribed in the life of communities.
