collage

Magdalena Targońska, b. 1979 in Wroclaw, Poland. Graduate of postgraduate studies Plastic Disciplines in Architecture at the E.Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw. My collages are created from old colorful newspapers and magazines. I do not use paint, paper is the only material used to create the image. The colored pieces are torn out or cut out, but in the latest works the latter "technique" dominates. The pieces glued onto the backing seemingly do not match. They are rarely smooth, usually they are fragments of pictures of different textures. The pieces of paper themselves do not represent any objects or people. Only when viewed from a distance do they form an image. Slightly blurred, but always depicting some reality. And the reality that I most like to show in my works is landscape, especially urban landscape.
