Maciej Walczak (b. 1992) studied interior design at the Technical University of Lodz, followed by artistic printmaking at the Wladyslaw Strzeminski Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz. His work is a journey, full of contrasts, into himself, his experiences, emotions and absurdities, which he illustrates mainly with a line. Although he is mostly known for his black-and-white murals and paintings preserved in the horror vacui motif, he also creates abstract prints and precise, three-dimensional drawings. The human personality is a complex creation, and even in art it cannot be expressed in a one-size-fits-all way, hence the artist's experiments with various media. For him, art is a means of communication with the world and expression of content lost in the depths of the unconscious. The black and white color scheme reflects his austere way of life and zero-one view of reality. Although at first glance his works appear to be chaos, it is chaos disciplined and tamed by the whip of perfectionism.
