Maciej Majewski, Touching the wave

Born in 1977 in Rybnik. Graduated from the Wojciech Gerson State High School of Fine Arts in Warsaw and the Leon Schiller National Higher School of Film, Theater and Television in Lodz; majoring in Animated Film Production, where he earned a Master of Arts degree. Painter, illustrator, director of original animated films, avid amateur surfer. His animated film "Attention! Bad Dogs!" was shown and awarded at many festivals in Poland and abroad (including OFAFA and the Krakow Film Festival). In October 2012, he made the film "Syrinx" based on a poem by German poet Norbert Hummelt for the ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival in Berlin. He debuted with an exhibition of "jutjub painting" at MiTo gallery, painting at the time paintings inspired by unusual news stories appearing on the YouTube channel, calling it Youtube'ism (Youtubism). He currently creates paintings with a "surfist" theme. Surfism is a philosophy of life, but also a new painting trend, showing the richness of the visual experience, its contemplative dimension, as well as the aspect of connection with nature and the element of water.
