NORMAN LETO is a versatile artist - he works in painting, creating digital simulations, video art and literature. The paintings he creates are often portraits of loved ones, situations that engage him emotionally, existential and intellectual challenges. He paints quickly, based on photographs, nature or video frames. Norman Leto's painting evokes the works of William Bouguereau or Thomas Gainsborough. His works are often based on artificial intelligence algorithms, with projects often balancing on the border between art and science - such as in the case of the life-size clumps he creates. He debuted with an exhibition at the Center for Contemporary Art in Warsaw, "Negative Aspects of Excessive Freedom at 26" in 2007. He is the author of the films "Sailor" (2010) (also published in the form of a novel, described by the British weekly 'Tribune' as "the best and most surprising independent debut) and "Photon" (2017), for which he received, among others, the Golden Claw Award, at the Golden Lions Festival, the Audience Award, the Grand Prix of the New Horizons Festival and the Grand Prix of the Koszalin "Youth and Film" Film Debut Festival. He is the winner of the Polityka Passports in the visual arts category (2018). He has presented his works in numerous exhibitions at the most prestigious institutions in Poland and abroad, including. Jeune création européene, Paris 2007; Perfect Summer, New Media Artists, Gallery Vertexlist, New York 2008; Streets & Other Interiors, lokal_30 at ZOO Art Fairs, London 2009; Buttes Monteaux 3, National Museum, Krakow 2009; SAILOR, film premiere, 10th Era New Horizons International Film Festival 2009, Sprzedam połowę bliźniaka, Arsenal Gallery, Białystok (2009), Non-existent exhibition spaces (Museum of Photography, Krakow 2017), "Kinotop. From Film," Jan Tarasin Art Gallery, Kalisz (2018) and "Go and Look," City Museum, Zabrze (2018); "AI dreaming + three vagnerites" (Art Agenda Nova, Krakow, 2023), "Human Saga" (Warsaw, 2023), "Proof of concept" (Wroclaw, 2024).
