The four-part composition comes from an important period in Leon Tarasewicz's work. Known for his in-depth artistic explorations of color, image texture or light, (not only on the plane of the canvas, but also in public spaces), in 2001 he participated in the Venice Art Biennale. At that time he prepared a realization as part of the main show, using the floor of the Polish pavilion adapted by colored acrylic plaster, creating an original "painting." A year later, the artist used the space of Plaza Real in Barcelona. The early 2000s also saw numerous exhibitions by Tarasewicz, for example in Stockholm (Galerie Nordenhake), Berlin (Springer & Winckler Galerie) and Venice (Galleria del Cavallino).
The painter was an alumnus of Tadeusz Dominik, and like him, he made color (inspired by landscape) one of his basic painting tools. Tarasewicz draws on primary colors and boldly uses contrasts and paint intensity. His expressive works strongly affect the senses, stimulating imagination and creative interpretation.
