Laz Dorota - in 1987 she graduated from the State High School of Fine Arts in Rzeszow, and soon began a two-year job as an art teacher at an elementary school in Tadeusz Kantor's hometown of Wielopole Skrzyńskie. She took up higher education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, receiving her M.A. degree in fine arts education, under the direction of Professor Wojciech Kubiczek, Ph.D., in 1994. For more than a dozen years she has lived and worked in Mielec, simultaneously working at Primary School No. 6 as a certified art teacher. Co-initiator of the Jan Stanislawski Association of Visual Culture Creators in Mielec and its long-time member, also affiliated with the Club of Creative Environments of the Wladyslaw Szafer Association of Mielec Land Lovers. She has been doing easel painting since the 1980s, experimenting in techniques: oil, acrylic, pastel (dry and greasepaint), drawing, tempera, watercolor. For the past few years, she has articulated herself most readily in oil painting, boldly operating with brush and spatula. Since 2009, she has also manifested herself in abstract painting. She has participated in numerous collective exhibitions of STKP and KŚT (TMZM), as well as painting plein-airs of international scope.
