Klaudia Zielinska, Dreams of a Chinese Doll, 2023

In 2012 she defended her diploma in Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun. She deals with figurative painting, strongly influenced by traditional craftsmanship. The artist's work oscillates around three classical themes: figures, still life and landscape, and the tone of these compositions is set by the accompanying moods of reflection and nostalgia. She talks about fleeting impressions, creating intimate worlds on canvas, composed of deep chiaroscuro and subtle detail. She draws inspiration for her work with a model or still-life arrangements from both her own memories, the works of the masters of painting of the late 19th century and photographs of the same period. The artist's first solo exhibition was held in January 2022 at Artus Court in Toruń.
