Biography
Graduate of the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. She also studied at École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Her paintings have been shown at Beers London Gallery and at Context Art Miami New York. Kinga Nowak's paintings were included in the album "100 Painters of Tomorrow" published by Thames & Hudson, along with works by Ewa Juszkiewicz and Jakub Julian Ziolkowski. She has exhibited at Zachęta, Cricoteka, MOCAK and lokal_30 gallery, among others. Kinga Nowak's works are in the collection of the National Museum in Cracow - Gallery of Polish Art XX + XXI century, in the collection of the Museum of Photography in Cracow - large-format sculptures in the Museum's park, in the collection of the National Museum in Gdansk - Gallery of Polish Contemporary Art New Look, and in many private collections.
In her creative practice, Kinga Nowak intertwines her interest in the language of abstraction with the modern form of figuration. Her works are characterized by bold composition, strong color and a peculiar, unusual kind of contemporary surrealism. She draws on the historical background of art and refers to it, expanding the chosen theme with a current context.
