Biography
Karolina Bielawska uses painting, drawing and installation in her work. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Media Art at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. In 2015 she defended her diploma in the Painting Space Studio of Leon Tarasewicz and Pawel Susid, selected for the exhibition "Coming Out - Best Diplomas of the Academy of Fine Arts" in Warsaw (2015) and for the international project Hosted Simply in Vienna (2016). Finalist in Hestia's Artistic Journey competition (2015) and the 2nd "But Art! Young Polish Painting" (2016). Participant in the first edition of the Biennale de La Biche (2017) - the smallest contemporary art biennial in the world. Scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage (2017). In 2016, together with Romanian curator Larisa Crunţeanu, she realized an international audiovisual project, "The Telenational Dream," presented at Warsaw's Illusion Cinema. In 2012-16, she collaborated with the Zachęta Project Place as an exhibition organizer. Her works were shown in, among others: Center for Contemporary Art in Toruń (2017), Jan Tarasin Art Gallery in Kalisz (2016), State Art Gallery in Sopot (2016), Heiligenkreuzer Hof in Vienna (2016), State Ethnographic Museum in Warsaw (2015) and Miejsce Projektów Zachęty in Warsaw (2014). He lives and works in Warsaw.
