From 1984 to 1989, he studied at the State Higher School of Fine Arts (now the Academy of Fine Arts) in Poznań at the Faculty of Graphic Arts. He completed his studies with two diplomas with distinction, in the printmaking studio of Prof. Tadeusz Jackowski and in the drawing studio of Prof. Jaroslaw Kozlowski. Initially he created mainly drawings and copperplates, but also engaged in commercial design, including: magazine covers, stands at the Poznan International Fair, the first billboards and ads on streetcars, perfume packaging, company logos, tattoos, interiors of public and private premises. In the second half of the 1990s, he turned to oil painting, which he has been doing professionally since 2000. In his paintings, Bak depicts female figures in an undefined, fantastic space. Since 1988, he has had more than a dozen solo exhibitions and participated in dozens of group exhibitions, including Polish Surrealists (Warsaw 2008), ART.-EXPO (New York, Las Vegas 2008), Primavera (Rotterdam, Netherlands 2008 and 2009), Charm of Women.
