Kamila Kowalik (born 1975) was born in Lublin in 1975 and has been painting since she was very young. She initially developed her artistic skills in classes at the Society of Friends of Fine Arts in Lublin. Her real encounter with the easel and palette took place at the State High School of Fine Arts in Lublin, from which she graduated in 1995. She learned to look with an artist's eye, compose space on canvas, operate with color and texture at the Faculty of Arts of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, from which she graduated with a diploma in painting in 2000. Regardless of her professional experience, Kamila always returns to art to look deep into her imagination. She paints mainly with acrylics on canvas and enjoys mixing different media and experimenting. She has developed her own technique sometimes combined with oil paint. The subject matter of her works is rather narrow and she is inspired by women's emotions and passions. She feels the need to capture and encapsulate them with form on canvas. Women are very close to Kamila and she is interested in their emotions, stories and uniqueness. That's why they are the ones who most often appear in her paintings, depicted in different series. For Kamila, detail is very important in her creation. She devotes a lot of time to it on her canvases. The details, the technique of applying paint, the structure created, the number of layers and the working tools are the components that make her paintings original and unique. One of Kamila's dreams is to continue uninhibitedly creating and realizing new ideas, which sometimes come unexpectedly.
