Between 1924 and 1929 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow
Fine Arts under the direction of J. Mehoffer, W. Weiss, K. Frycz
and F. Kowarski. In 1937, he continued his studies with J. Pankiewicz
in Paris. Since 1931, he was a member of the "Pryzmat" art group. After
war he settled on the coast, where, together with a group of other artists
organized the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, where in 1945-1963 he
he headed the Painting Studio. He co-founded the so-called "Sopot School",
preaching the primacy of color in painting. From 1963, he taught
at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He painted landscapes, still lifes and portraits,
while in the 1960s his work was dominated by representations
full of fantastic figures, often of a grotesque nature.
Studnicki's works reflect the great sensitivity and natural
artist's sense of color. They were presented at numerous
exhibitions both at home and abroad. Individual exhibitions
took place, among others, in 1966 at the Zachęta Gallery in Warsaw and
during the 33rd Venice Biennale, in 1970 in Milan, in 1978.
