Biography
Born in 1936 in Warsaw, Poland. Graduate of the Warsaw University of Technology, where he worked from 1960-71, as an assistant. In 1963 he began private painting studies under J. Betley and A. Kobzdej. Two years later he had his first exhibition at the Warsaw Debut Salon. Since 1989, he has been teaching drawing at the Faculty of Graphics of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. In 1975, he exhibited as part of the "Golden Grape" symposium in Zielona Gora. In 1980 he received the C.K. Norwid Art Criticism Award. J.H. Raczko's works are also exhibited in exhibitions and group projects arising in the circle of B. Kowalska (exhibitions at Gallery 72 in Chelm (1986, 87 and 93) and J.G. Blum-Kwiatkowski.
