Biography
Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, receiving his diploma in 1952 in the studio of Professor Xawery Dunikowski. Since his debut at the exhibition of fine arts of the Cracow district of the Association of Polish Artists in September 1952, he has actively participated in artistic life, took part in several hundred exhibitions of Polish art at home and abroad, in most countries of Europe, Asia and America. He also participated in many competitions for the design of sculptures and monuments. He belongs to art groups: MARG (short for painters, architects, sculptors, graphic artists), Art International. In 1952-83 he was a member of the Association of Polish Artists, between 1970 and 1980 of the New Improvisation group (participants were musicians, actors, visual artists), and since 1983 he has been a member of the Association of Sculptors. In 1952-89, he served as an expert for the Ministry of Culture and Art on sculpture. From 1961-71, he was an assistant, then an assistant professor at the Faculty of Architecture of the Cracow University of Technology; from 1965-69, he was a lecturer at the Faculty of Industrial Forms of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow; from 1971-86, he was an associate professor at the Faculty of Interior Design, and since 1986, he has been a professor at his alma mater.
