Joanna Sarapata
The artist was born on February 16, 1962 in Warsaw. She is an acclaimed Polish painter and a graduate of Paris' L'ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts. Since 1987, she has exhibited her works in many countries around the world, including Poland and France, where she has lived for years. She was the heroine of the biographical documentary film "Joanna Sarapata", made in 1994 by Hanna Kramarczuk. In 1996 she won the main prize in a poster competition organized by the Paris Opera. From 2011 to 2014, in collaboration with Jolanta Racinowska-Bogiel, she ran Galeria Sarapata gallery, located at 11b Piękna Street in Warsaw.
Among the lovers and clients of her works are many famous people, including Jose Carreras, Placido Domingo, Elton John, Patricia Picasso, John Raid, Rami Grumach, Rossy de Palma, Malgorzata Bela and Gene Gutowski.
Among others, Joanna Sarapata is collaborating with Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill, who will place her work - as the only living artist - in a gallery of female nudes to be created in a prestigious Moscow residence. In late November 2017, together with her son Christoph Zerbon, she founded an art gallery, Sarapata Art Gallery, located in Warsaw.
