Joanna Lapuszek (born 1972) is a painter. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, where she received a diploma with distinction in the studio of Prof. Jan Pamuła, and an annex in drawing under Prof. Jacek Gaia. She also studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki in the studio of H. Wuoril-Stenberg. Two trends "collide" in her work. On the one hand, the artist creates expressive abstractions with intense colors. On the other hand, the artist creates expressive black and white compositions, sometimes oscillating between figuration and abstraction, one with clear figurative elements. Her monochromatic paintings and drawings, built on the opposition between white and black, are not only compositionally mature - the artist brings out great possibilities from a very limited palette - but also often take up important themes, related to, for example, life, faith, the human condition.
