Painter, illustrator, critic and educator. Studied at the Faculty of Architecture at the Warsaw University of Technology, graduating in 1959 under Prof. Bohdan Lachert. In the early days of his work, he was influenced by his master and friend Artur Nacht-Samborski, and also sought inspiration in the work of Paul Klee. Over time, he developed his own and not subject to fashions style. The artist's works depicted a world of structures, imaginative landscapes, visions of the archaic natural world. The artist left a rich legacy of drawings, often in the nature of a personal notebook. The artist's second passion was art criticism. In 1957-1968 he published articles in "Współczesność", "Przeglad Artystyczny", "Przegląd Kulturalny", "Więzi", "Ty i ja". The artist's critical activity was severely curtailed after 1968.He often exhibited abroad, where for a long time his work was better known than at home. In 1993 there was a retrospective exhibition at the Center for Contemporary Art in Warsaw.
